# Collection: Washdown Scales

Truweigh washdown scales are IP65-rated, which means they are water-resistant and dustproof! IP65 is an ingress protection rating, which is a scale used to determine how durable certain devices are. IP65 keeps all dust out of the device, they are completely dust-tight.

IP65 is water-resistant, and the device won’t be affected by low-pressure water jets from any direction. In simple terms, this means that the scale can get wet, as in rinsed off or splashed, but it should not be submerged in water. Washdown scales are great for outdoor use and weighing liquids!
